Improving your Sleep Environment

Getting a good night’s sleep is very important especially when you have a huge list of things to do the next day. Making sure your bedroom is comfortable before going to sleep is a huge part of feeling relaxed and rested.

A good night’s rest can come easier by making a consistent effort to relax before bed. A bedtime routine that helps your brain wind down and rids you of the day’s stresses is a helpful one indeed. But here are some things to know to help get you into that routine.

First, keep your room cool. A bedroom that is too hot or cold can disrupt your sleeping schedule. But finding a good temperature for you where you are comfortable and don’t have to keep moving the sheets on and off you is important.

Next, try to get rid of or avoid any loud noises. Earplugs are a great alternative too as well as special sound machines that generate anything from a rain fall to white noise. There are also many apps that allow you to do this as well.

Lastly, having a comfy bed is a huge part in getting a good night’s sleep. If you are waking up sore and drowsy you might need to invest in a new mattress, pillows, or even bedding. Experiment and take time finding the perfect bed set for you.

Your bed should be that safe place you go when you’re tired, but if you are tired and your sleep environment is not conductive to a good night’s sleep, then you may not be able to sleep at all.
